Systems Engineer

Responsibilities include:
  • Assist in maintenance, design, build and testing secure server environments
  • Perform routine operating system updates, maintenance, and monitoring
  • Assist on helpdesk calls in a secondary role
  • Work directly with 3rd party vendors troubleshooting, reporting issues, outages, and entering tickets
  • Analyze available data sources to identify trends and make recommendations to enhance network, system, and data security
  • Responsible for documenting new and existing systems including system diagrams, and operational support documents and assist in training other team members
  • Assist in IT audit, IT risk assessment, audit controls analysis and IT review process including planning, reporting, and defining and implementing recommendations
  • Perform remote work at locations (occasionally may require travel)
Skills/experience required:
  • Experience deploying and configuring Microsoft Windows Server 2019 and up
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server Active Directory, user management, security groups, 
  • Knowledge of various desktop applications
  • 2-3+ years direct experience required in the management and administration of supporting servers, users, and computers with security as a focus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, conducive to team development
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills
Skills desired:
  • Knowledge of or experience with Microsoft Teams phone system/VOIP
  • Knowledge of or experience with virtualization and cloud computing technology (VMWare)
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure AD and SSO
  • Experience with SQL, Microsoft 365, Exchange, DNS
  • Knowledge of or experience with backup solutions
  • Experience/participation in enterprise technology planning and strategy development
  • Experience with architectures supporting highly available applications
Other requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter, capable of being self-directed and direct others
  • Works well with a team or independently
  • People-oriented, customer focused
  • Professional in appearance, demeanor, and delivery
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required for employment
