Marketing & Social Media Coordinator

Work Schedule: Flexible
Hours per Week: 15-20
Wage: $13/hour
Start Date: Negotiable/May 2023 with some remote summer hours possible

Job Description:
The Marketing & Communication Coordinator is a 9-month, renewable appointment (mid-August to mid-May) with possible summer (remote) hours. This position is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies and tactics (including events) to increase the visibility and awareness of the MU Career Center on campus. The Marketing Coordinator will work with full-time staff members to lead a student marketing team that accomplish Career Center marketing efforts. Additionally, this position will assist with creating, marketing, and delivering career-related content and programming for faculty and staff.

Responsibilities include the following:
• Collaborate with full-time staff, a graphic designer, and content creators to develop and deliver marketing and career-related content to the MU campus
• Provide leadership to a marketing team consisting of student employees of the MU Career Center, including monitoring of marketing team tasks and oversight of projects
• Aggregate and/or create article, video and social media content to promote Mizzou and career-related events and information
• Monitor all social media accounts of the MU Career Center, including posting/re-posting of campus partners and responding to comments from followers
• Following campus marketing and social media policies and research best practices from other universities and MU departments
• Increase engagement of MU Career Center followers with the aim to encourage more student office visits
• Track data and assess the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, including a semester report of social media users and event activity, helping provide direction for future marketing, projects, and events
• Plan, execute, and participate in occasional MU Career Center events (1-3 times per semester)
• Promoting career development and career readiness materials for faculty and staff

Qualifications:
• Upper-class student (junior or senior) or graduate student pursing a Masters or PhD
• Related experience in social media and marketing strategy
• Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in a team
• Excels at project management and multitasking
• Ability to foster engagement and motivate peers
• Independent worker with strong work ethic, comfortable with autonomy and asking questions
• Willingness to learn about the MU Career Center and career services
