Personal Trainer
Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Personal Trainer to join the dynamic team at J. Thomas Lovell Jr. and Longview Community Center. Responsibilities include conducting personal training sessions with patrons in accordance with accepted standards and practices, evaluating sessions through direct contact with patrons as well as written surveys, assisting in maintaining the cleanliness of the fitness area, ensuring proper use of equipment by patrons, enforcing fitness area rules and regulations and maintains a safe environment for patron use, etc.
Minimum qualifications include a national Personal Training certification required (i.e. ASC, ACSM, ACE, etc.); and, basic First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required within three (3) months of the date of hire. The candidate must perform and a pass successful demonstration of skills to the Recreation Supervisor.
Preferred candidates will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to communicate with patrons professionally and respectfully; skills in organizing, planning, and preparing materials and evaluating goals and objectives; ability to analyze community needs, problem solve and implement solutions, and relate to the needs of all age groups.
Compensation: $26.00 per hour.
