Student Success Communicator

The ideal candidate will serve as a multimedia storyteller for the CAFNR student experience, highlighting student opportunities such as research, study abroad and experiential learning; showcasing student services such as career services and advising; and exploring the variety of CAFNR majors and career opportunities. With 14 degree programs and more than 2,600 undergraduate students in a range of disciplines, centered around creating a healthy world, this position is constantly finding new and interesting stories to feature! This position supports student recruitment and student success messaging, with the talent of a collaborative team.

Primary responsibilities include writing feature stories and taking accompanying photographs for numerous audiences; brainstorming and crafting social media campaigns alongside our social media manager; writing student recruitment marketing language as part of our web redesign; designing email campaigns for prospective students to spotlight our range of degree programs; publishing a monthly electronic newsletter to showcase our robust learning, advising and teaching cohorts; and building relationships with CAFNR undergraduate program coordinators. REQUIRED

QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism, marketing or a related discipline with a strong emphasis in written communication, and two years of related experience • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Collaborative and self-motivated • Ability to meet deadlines • Demonstrated ability to create compelling stories for a variety of audiences • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with faculty, staff and administrators • Comfortable telling stories through photography or other media

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, WordPress and competent with dSLR cameras • Superior editing skills and knowledge of AP style • Four years of professional writing and editing experience APPLICATION PROCESS:
