Photojournalism Internship-PAID

PAID SUMMER INTERNSHIP – PHOTOJOURNALISM
Rural Missouri nonprofit organization New Growth seeks a photojournalism intern for its Rural Business Photo Stories project. A stipend of $5,000 is available to cover 270 hours of work over the summer of 2023. Join us for an exciting, challenging, and substantive internship!

WHAT: The Rural Business Photo Stories Project will produce 12-15 rural business photo narratives (images and short accompanying narrative).

Its New Growth Women’s Business Center helps rural entrepreneurs, men and women, get going and growing. Learn more at <newgrowthmo.org>.

WHEN: The photojournalism intern will work over June and July to complete the rural business photo narratives by mid-August, 2023. The intern will be invited to participate in the project’s Rural Business Photo Stories symposium, which will take place in the fall.

WHERE: Partner organizations in five west central Missouri counties will assist the intern in connecting and working with local subject entrepreneurs. The five counties (and their county seats) are: Bates (Butler), Benton (Warsaw), Dallas (Buffalo), St. Clair (Osceola), and Vernon (Nevada).

HOW: New Growth will post and promote the Rural Business Photo Stories in a variety of ways: 1) website presentation 2) social media 3) conferences and events, including the project’s capstone symposium, and 4) through the Missouri Press Association to newspapers statewide.
