Logistics Specialist

Position Summary: The day-to-day function of this position is to support the International Freight team with accurate record keeping of international shipments, bank wires for product that is procured from international sources, and acting as a liaison between the buyers, logistics and sourcing. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a database, working with Accounts Payable, and communicating key metrics to management and senior executives.
Essential Functions:
· Communicates orders for product with approved vendors
· Reviews Proforma Invoices and submits invoices to buying team
· Manages payments from bank to vendor for pending Purchase Orders
· Update and maintain database or schedule of payments
· Monitors timely submission of payments and assesses appropriate penalties if needed
· Act as liaison between the Logistics Department and Accounts Payable
· Communicate key process metrics to senior management
The Ideal Team Member:
· Prior ocean freight and/or truck freight management and skills preferred (1-3 years)
· General concept of international freight, and/or freight forwarding preferred
· Proven track record with meeting timelines, due dates, and key deliverables
· Conscientious, hardworking, trustworthy
· High school diploma or equivalent
· College degree preferred with major or minor in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
· Above average skills in Microsoft Office required with emphasis on Excel
· Keen ability to work on multiple priorities and projects at one time
· Works ahead of deadlines, communicating any road blocks in advance of due dates
· Strong ability to think outside the box and find constructive solutions quickly
· Respects solutions that are efficiently and effectively found through collaboration and cooperation
· Must be able to work in a fast paced environment!
Position is full time Monday through Friday 40 hours 8:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
