Imagine learning from planning and merchandising teams who drive the success of a multi-billion dollar business! As a Planning & Merchandise Intern with JCPenney, you will do just that as part of our Home Office team in Plano, TX (just 20 miles north of downtown Dallas). Our high-caliber internship is comprised of engaging projects and assignments, presentations to JCPenney associates, and even face time with senior leadership. Our goal is to immerse you in all aspects of buying and planning and show you what it is like to be a part of the JCPenney team. 

During the ten week internship, you will gain a basic understanding of each phase of the merchandising process. You will be assigned to a Merchandise Action Team (MAT) which including Buying, Planning and Allocation, and given various projects to facilitate your learning. At the end of the program, you will present a project showcasing your understanding of the buying and planning process to senior leadership. Upon completion, if you have what it takes to be a part of the JCPenney team, you may receive an offer for the full-time Business Analyst Trainee position in our home office post-graduation.

 

Core Competencies & Accomplishments: 

·         Current college junior status

·         Cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher

·         Major in Fashion Merchandising or Business

·         Desire to move to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area

·         Outstanding leadership, communication and time management skills

·         Ability to recognize, analyze and quantify market trends

·         Ability to collaborate and be a strong team member

·         Proficient in MS Word and Excel
