IT Technician

The IT Technician is responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to technology systems. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problem, and determines and implements solution.
Required: High School Diploma and 1+ years’ experience troubleshoot and installing IT systems and software.
Preferred: AS in IT related field and/or one or more years of department related experience in one or more of the following: IT and/or Business end user functions of IT Service Desk (or Call Centers), Field Services, End User Technology and/or End Use applications.

Qualifications:
Knowledge
- Hardware and Software: In-depth knowledge of various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), hardware components (CPUs, memory, motherboards), and software applications.
- Networking Fundamentals: Understanding of LAN, WAN, VPN, IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Security Practices: Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, antivirus software, firewalls, and best practices for maintaining system security.
- IT Troubleshooting: Knowledge of common hardware and software issues, diagnostic tools, and how to resolve common technical problems.
- Basic Electrical Systems: Understanding of electrical circuits, voltage, current, resistance, and power as they relate to IT equipment and systems.
- Keyless Entry Systems: Familiarity with different types of keyless door systems, including RFID, biometric, keypad, and smart lock systems. Understanding how keyless entry systems integrate with broader access control systems, including managing permissions, tracking entries, and securing restricted areas.

- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical users, document procedures, and provide technical support.

- Time Management: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Tool Proficiency: Ability to safely and effectively use basic tools for installing and repairing hardware, including working with cables, outlets, and keyless entry systems.
- Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn and implement new technologies, tools, and systems as they evolve.
