Human Resources Intern

We are looking for a Human Resources Intern. In this position you will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the Human Resources department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with the creation and tracking of departmental training plans.
  • Prepare files for electronic imaging.
  • Assist with i-9 and background check documentation audit.
  • Assist in the planning, preparing, and scheduling of HR related activities and events.
  • Assist with new hire orientation.
  • Assist in maintaining personnel-related files on all company personnel, ensuring compliance with federal and state recordkeeping requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company and departmental activities and records.
  • Assist with payroll processing as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

This is a 20 hour per week summer position, lasting approximately 8-10 weeks.  This internship will be located in Columbia, MO.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Computer proficiency for correspondence, data entry, email, and internet.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and experience working within a team.

 

Education Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program going into Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year preferably pursuing a degree in human resources.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
