The Mental Health Professional provides clinical services to individuals under the supervision of the Mental Health Coordinator, Clinical Supervisor or Mental Health Director. They conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide evidenced-based psychotherapeutic interventions. Additionally, they provide mental health consultation and training to facility staff.
Education
- Master’s degree in a behavioral/social science field from an accredited college or university.
Experience
- Coursework and professional experience in correctional facilities highly desired, but not required. Knowledge of mental health counseling, group and individual psychotherapy, diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders, psychological assessment techniques, crisis intervention, and mental health consultation.
Licenses/Certifications
- LCSW, LPC, LMHC, LMSW or similar licensure in the state from the Florida state licensing board; Must maintain CPR certification and any other certifications (such as First Aid) required.
