Fall Internship Opportunity

Organization: Family Physicians Inquiries Network (FPIN)
Location: Columbia, Missouri (In-Person Only)
Start Date:  September 9, 2025
Schedule: 6–12 hours/week | Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays | Flexible timing with consistent weekly schedule
Duration: Fall 2025
Compensation: Paid internship (rate discussed upon interview)

About FPIN

FPIN is a 27-year-old national nonprofit dedicated to supporting primary care clinicians in practicing evidence-based medicine and producing scholarship. We’re a small, mission-driven organization with a big impact in the world of medical publishing and clinician education.

Internship Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fall Intern to support key operational and editorial functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in health sciences, journalism, or nonprofit work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Copyediting and formatting medical manuscript submissions
  • Performing data entry
  • Updating tracking systems
  • Logging and following up on editorial agreements and author requests
  • Reconciling and organizing expense receipts
  • Assisting with accreditation-related research for graduate medical education (GME)
  • Supporting mailing projects and general office tasks
  • Monitoring and triaging email inboxes
  • Completing one-off administrative assignments

Requirements

  • Must be available to work in person at our Columbia, Missouri office
  • Ability to work Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays (6–12 hours total/week)
  • Consistent weekly availability is required
  • Strong proofreading, written communication, and computer skills
