Event Planner Intern
November 2018 - October 2019 • Omaha, NE
What I liked
I loved doing something new everyday. Although I worked at an insurance company, I was never at my desk. I got to interact with a good majority of the employees in the office. I learned to plan large scale and small scale events.
What I wish was different
The Events committee I was on had troubles finalizing decisions and sense I was only an intern, I didn’t have enough authority to decide on a final decision and settle disputes. A lot of time was wasted on pointless banter trying to decide upon minute details.
Advice
I would say to have patience. As an intern, you have to go along with what the Events committee decides, even if it is a bad idea. Try to execute their ideas as best as possible.
